L'Anse aux Meadows
L'Anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland, marks
the site of the first known European settlement in North America. It was
here that the Vikings built three timber-and-sod longhouses and five
smaller buildings — and here that the first iron working in the New
World began. This site has great photographs of the remains and
artifacts found here.
Leif Ericsson
This is a short biography of the Viking explorer who
