Australian
Animals
The Delhi
Trustees has voted to build a zoo right here in our neighborhood.
They have decided to begin Zoo construction with an exhibit on
Australian animals. The newly-hired curator of the Zoo has
asked for help in selecting which animals to include in this
exhibit. He will need to know factual information about the
animal in order to know where to find the animal and how to meet the
animal's needs in captivity. Your job is to research three
Australian animals
and prepare a presentation for the Delhi Zoo's curator. When
you have completed your research, you will present the information
to him in a Kid Pix presentation so he can make his final decisions
about which animals to select and how to care for them.
Here are the steps you must follow to complete this project:
1. Choose which three Australian animals you would like to
research from those included on the
Enchanted Learning Australian Animals Web page. Try to choose at
least one unusual animal that people in Delhi may never have heard
about.
2. Print the Fact Sheets on the four animals you have chosen.
If you need more information about any of your animals, you can look
at these Web sites. Write any information you find on the
Internet on the Australian Animals Notes paper you have been given.
3. For homework, complete the Australian Animals
Fact Sheet.
Then write a short report about each animal that you can type into a
Kid Pix page. Include information about what the animal looks
live, where it lives, what it eats, how it reproduces, and anything
else you think is interesting and informative.
4. Make one page in Kid Pix for each of your three animals.
Also make a title page with your name on it. Decorate the
title page any way you want. Put all four slides together into
a slide show using the Moving Truck. Share your presentation
with the curator of the Delhi Zoo and with your classmates.
Good job, mates!
